Uh oh! It’s that feeling straight off a Jet Airways flight and walking through an airport in India, when you suddenly realise that your hand is empty and you can’t find your phone. This Jet Airways Business Class flight review covers what to expect during your airline flight.
Fortunately for me, it was Jet Airways to the rescue when I arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, India. Slightly dazed after waking from a deep sleep and then getting off in a rush is asking for trouble when you travel with lots of bits and pieces. However, I discovered a plane is probably one of the best places to leave your phone behind.
The kind folk at Jet Airways, one of the top-rated airlines in India, tell me that once passengers leave the plane, security personnel are the next to board, and your phone is safe with them. With my seat number in hand, the search began for my phone. I had forgotten that I’d had a seat swap with my travelling companion, so in the end, Tucker, my pet corgi dog, saved the day and identified the phone as mine with his smiling face on my screen saver.
This was my first trip to India. I stayed at The Leela Palace New Delhi and The Leela Palace Bengaluru. When overnighting in Singapore, I stayed at The Fullerton Hotel.
One of the highlights of this visit was a tour of the Taj Mahal. It’s every bit as spectacular as you expect!

I was able to book my luggage from Dehli to Brisbane via Singapore without a problem.

Travelling in business class means you’ll have the luxury of a seat with massage functions. I find the gentle vibration of the seat is a good way to keep blood circulating and even lulls me off to sleep.

The Business Class menu offered good diversity and delicious Indian options balanced by western-style food. I started with tomato basil soup, followed by mushroom and vegetable cannelloni and finished with an Indian dessert, angoori rabdi. The grape-shaped cottage cheese dumplings were seeped in cardomom-flavoured sweetened milk. I could have chosen white chocolate and raspberry mousse or ice cream and popcorn. All the food was served on attractive china with metal cutlery and salt and pepper grinders. It was like dining in a restaurant.

Modes of payment:
Do carry cash in India as it is the most preferred mode. Also, the local currency is needed for tipping. Credit cards are accepted in larger outlets/hotels.
Tipping:
It is not mandatory but widely practised in India, so do give the drivers and service staff a tip if you have enjoyed the experience and to show appreciation for services rendered.
Photography:
It is restricted in many temples, museums and wildlife sanctuaries. Do obtain permission or special tickets for using the camera where necessary.
Currency:
Rupee – change in Singapore as there is a limit on the amount that can be changed in India.
