Are you eating with your eyes at the Night Noodle Markets?  Looking for the most instagrammable dishes on the menu?

Here’s my list of the meals that will make your friends drool on their screens.

  1. The cake with a twist

Blackstar Pastry, this year combined with n2 Gelato, have turned their oh-so-popular Strawberry watermelon cake into gelato smashed with vanilla n2 gelato and topped with an injection of gooey goodness.  It’s got all the flavour of the cake, but it’s gelato.  Those flowers on the top are so cute. I’d love to know what’s in the injection, as I couldn’t get mine to open.

2. The Cake

So hard to beat, Blackstar’s Strawberry watermelon cake almond cake with rose cream, watermelon, strawberries and rose petals is now a classic and I hope it’s always available. Totally tastes as good as it looks.

3. On the dark side

Never had a black steam bun?  Now you can with Let’s Do Yum Cha’s handmade yum cha barbecue pork buns which come in black and white. There’s also a prawn and chive dumpling and pork dumpling.

4. The eyes have it

Almost too cute to eat, Let’s Do Yum Cha’s cute little custard buns come with personality and eyes to watch you.  There’s a trick to these buns and they have a deliciously oozy custard centre. Check the video above for the full instructions.  Eat them with care.

5. Just stick it

Waffleland’s waffles on a stick put a whole new spin on this traditional dessert.  It’s hard to pick a winner from the various toppings, but I’m betting on the Shanghai sunrise which sees a freshly baked warm waffle covered with mango, shaved coconut, ice cream, and chunks of violet crumble.  Then there’s the drizzle of maple syrup and finish of icing sugar.

My best tip is head to the Menulog At Home Zone where this fabulous street food will be brough straight to your seat.  That’s right, you don’t have to queue!

It’s a mastermind stroke from Menulog to highlight the comforts of home delivery in the great outdoors, and so much better than the very long queues at some of the most popular stalls at the Night Noodle Markets. For the first time ever, this includes Black Star Pastry, offering their insta-famous Strawberry Watermelon Cake. Other vendors available for Menulog delivery include Bao Stop, Chur Burger, Poké Bear and many more.

Everyone is welcome in the Menulog At Home Zone.  It’s completely free to enter with a complimentary delivery service. You simply pick a spot and wait for Menulog’s on-ground green team to take your order. Perfect

When you’ve had your fill of the instagramable dishes, try these five other top meals.

  1. Tacos go to Korea

Poklol has a trio of Korean barbeque tacos – bulgogi beef, chilli chicken and chilli pork tacos with pickled carrots, kimchi slaw, cucumbers, shallots topped with their secret pokky sauce.

  1. Healthy treat

Poké Bear’s alpine king salmon is topped with yuzu miso, sesame dressing, wakame, sesame seeds, daikon pickle, radish, wasabi tobiko and diced avocado.

  1. Traditional treat

This chicken pad Thai from SpanThai stands out from the crowed with thick noodles, chicken, egg cooked with pad Thai sauce served with a wedge of lemon garnished with bean sprout and green spring onion and roasted crush peanut.

  1. Steamin skewers

You only have to smell the barbeque sizzle t Hoy Pinoy to know they have got their chicken skewers in a traditional soy glaze cooked over a charcoal fire pit just right.

  1. And it just got better

Not content to rest on their success, Blackstar Pastry has come up with the Raspberry lychee cake. Built upon a rich chocolate biscuit foundation, there are layers of raspberry marshmallow and vanilla cream to create a delicious balance of texture and flavour. The topping is lychees and raspberries for a sweet, succulent freshness.
