Feed your romance at one of Queensland’s top romantic restaurants where you will find the most romantic restaurants in Australia according to OpenTable which is perfect for Valentine’s Day dining.

Restaurant reservation platform OpenTable has checked its list twice and for the second year in a row, Queensland leads in Australia 50 Most Romantic Restaurants with 34 per cent of spots followed by New South Wales and Victoria.

That makes choosing the right spot for that important meal for Valentine’s Day dining, a special birthday dinner or to pop the question, just a little easier.

To help you along the way, I have some more great tips.

How to have a romantic dinner

Even though more than 4 million Aussies have realised they were smitten with their partner whilst dining at a restaurant according to OpenTable, it is not always easy to get it right.  You only have to look at reality television shows to see that!

Here are some tips that will help you make the most of that special dinner or Valentine’s Day dining.

  1. Choose a restaurant where you feel comfortable and has good ambience.  That might be a view (great for those quiet moments) or dim lighting (everyone looks better in dim lighting).

2. Pick a cuisine that you and your partner both enjoy.  You would be pretty safe with Modern Australian cuisine as it is enjoyed by 38 per cent of the Australian population according to OpenTable.  The next most popular is European.

3. Take any dietary preferences into consideration.  This is really simple – don’t take a vegetarian to a steak house, make sure there is a vegan menu if that is your partner’s preference, and a seafood restaurant is a no-no for anyone with seafood allergies.  This is not rocket science.

4. Book ahead! Planning ahead shows you place importance on the meal and therefore the romance.  Make sure to book, especially for busy occasions such as Valentine’s Day dining.

Disclaimer:

The list of the top 50 restaurants in Australia is generated solely from more than 126,000 verified OpenTable diner reviews collected in the previous year. All restaurants with a minimum “overall” score and number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants were then sorted according to a score calculated from each restaurant’s average rating in the “overall” category along with that restaurant’s rating relative to others in the same metropolitan area.
