When choosing where to stay in Noosa, one location stands out above all others: Hastings Street. Set between Noosa Main Beach and the lush greenery of Noosa National Park, this iconic strip places you within walking distance of swimming, surfing, boutique shopping, cafés and some of Queensland’s best dining.

I’ve stayed in Noosa many times over the years, including at seven of the accommodation options featured in this guide. Each stay has offered a slightly different perspective, from beachfront apartments where you can step straight onto the sand, to peaceful river-facing suites where sunset becomes part of the daily ritual.

Staying on or near Hastings Street means you can park the car and forget about it. Morning swims, lazy brunches, sunset cocktails and evening strolls all happen within a few relaxed minutes of your room. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a girls’ weekend, or a relaxed family holiday, these are the best places to stay in Noosa, with a focus on Hastings Street accommodation and nearby resorts I’ve experienced firsthand.

Where to Stay in Noosa: Best Hastings Street Accommodation for Your Perfect Escape

Noosa is one of my favourite holiday destinations in Australia, and it’s somewhere I return to again and again. There’s something about the rhythm of life here that makes it easy to relax, whether you’re staying for a weekend or settling in for a longer break.

My perfect Noosa morning starts early with a swim at Noosa Main Beach, when the water is calm and the sand is still quiet. Afterwards, I’ll often wander along the coastal track through Noosa National Park, watching the surfers at First Point and keeping an eye out for dolphins. Other days, I head in the opposite direction and walk along the river towards the mouth, where the pace feels slower and the views are just as beautiful.

When it comes to accommodation, my dream stay is an apartment that opens straight onto the beach. Sliding open the doors and stepping onto the sand feels like winning the holiday lottery. That said, I also love staying on the riverside of Hastings Street, where sunset views over the Noosa River create a completely different, but equally relaxing, atmosphere.

Wherever you choose to stay, Hastings Street remains the best base for enjoying everything Noosa does so well: beach days, great dining, boutique shopping and easy access to nature.

One of the best things about staying on Hastings Street is that your Noosa holiday can easily become a car-free escape. Once you arrive, you can park the car and forget about it, spending your days walking everywhere you want to go.

Noosa Main Beach is right on your doorstep, cafés and restaurants are steps away, and the coastal tracks through Noosa National Park start at the end of the street. You can stroll to breakfast, wander back for an afternoon swim, and head out again for dinner without ever needing to drive or search for a parking spot.

Staying here means:

New Luxury Accommodation at Noosa Heads

Elysium Noosa Resort

Perfect for: Couples, luxury travellers and wellness seekers

Set just behind Hastings Street, the newly opened Elysium Noosa Resort brings a fresh level of sophistication to Noosa following the transformation of the former Sofitel Noosa. The redesigned hotel offers elegant rooms and suites with spacious balconies or terraces, creating a refined retreat just moments from Noosa Main Beach and Hastings Street dining. Friends tell me the breakfast at Elysium is legendary, and you also have the flavours of Cibaria from celebrated Sydney restaurateurs, Alessandro and Ann Pavoni, along with Bar Capri on your doorstep.

I’ve stayed here several times when it was Sofitel Noosa, and I’ve always loved the location overlooking the river. Having great in-house dining and such a large, resort-style pool makes it an easy place to settle in and relax between beach walks and Hastings Street wanderings.

Why stay here:
• Fully refurbished rooms and suites with generous balconies or terraces
• Prestige Suites overlooking the pool towards Main Beach
• Poolside Junior Suites with private cabanas
• Premium Elysium Suite with ocean views and private plunge pool
• Wellness Suites featuring infrared saunas and terrace spas
• Easy walk to the beach, restaurants and boutiques

Downside:

Downside:
• Not absolute beachfront, so you’ll need to walk a few minutes to reach the sand
• Some rooms face the street or surrounding buildings rather than water views.
• As a newly reimagined luxury resort, room rates are typically at the higher end for Noosa
• The large resort layout can feel less intimate than boutique beachfront properties

It’s ideal if you want modern luxury, wellness experiences and resort-style comfort while staying right in the heart of Noosa.

While it’s a five-minute drive from the beachfront, the resort runs a convenient shuttle service to Hastings Street and Noosa Main Beach, making it easy to enjoy the area without worrying about parking.
