A remarkable slice of Queensland history
Braeside Homestead was established in the mid-1870s before being developed into a model stud farm by Queensland pastoralist, politician and businessman William Allan between 1879 and 1901.
Its significance was such that Braeside Stud featured in the Queensland Agricultural Journal in 1899, reflecting its importance to Queensland’s developing agricultural industry.
The original four-room house formed the heart of a growing homestead that expanded over the following five decades. Today, visitors can still see the original hand-cut ironbark slab walls and timber shingles preserved within the home, providing a fascinating glimpse into colonial Queensland.
After falling into disrepair during the second half of the twentieth century, the heritage-listed property has been meticulously restored, preserving its character while introducing every modern comfort.

The Homestead is the heart of the historic section of the building and has five luxurious bedrooms, each with an ensuite. There’s a lounge, dining and kitchen area.
The Residence is where luxury rules with an elegant bedroom, oversized dressing and bathrooms, a huge lounge dining area and a gourmet kitchen. It’s completely gorgeous and overlooks the pool.
At the side of the property is The Cottage, a cute yet luxurious one-bedroom separate dwelling that conjures romantic evenings.
