A pink pool table, a fun-filled karaoke room, frosé slushies and chicken parmi spring rolls, what’s not to love about Little Big House?

Slotted neatly between two new high-rise developments at the Woolloongabba end of Grey Street, Little Big House has transformed the former Collins Place Queenslander building into a relaxed watering house with a distinct Queensland vibe.

Quirky décor

Expect plenty of palm tree references and local sayings turned into art like the Yeah-Nah neon wall sign. (Yeah-Nah means yes I heard you, but no I don’t agree.)

The pool table has a pink felt ground and the karaoke room is outfitted with a wide selection of hats and dress ups to ensure plenty of fun.  Check the website to book this room.

The décor taps into Queensland with quirky signs and a beer brewed by Young Henrys exclusively for Little Big House.

Put that with cocktails in a can including the ‘Feels like Apple Pie’ – a fresh lime, apple and fireball concoction garnished with mint – and the ‘Grape Expectations’ with Aperol, vodka, lemon and grape soda.

What’s on the menu at Little Big House?

Head chef Mathew Fulford (ex Stokehouse, Qualia at Hamilton Island) has a passion for using fresh homegrown produce.

The menu focuses on authentic rotisserie chickens, meats and seafood and promises to be the place serving Brisbane’s best roast chook. It is available in two sizes – for those with small or larger appetites – both served with gravy and chips or a choice of salad or vegetable.

There are plenty of down to earth choices such as lamb sausage rolls, spiced mixed nuts and rolls filled with roast chicken or porchetta from the rotisserie will keep everyone happy.

A separate section for nippers which offers fish fingers or rotisserie chicken with chips for children.

Finish off with an ice cream sanga.

Where will you find Little Big House?

The Little Big House kiosk, just a stone’s throw from Southbank train station, opens from 7 am daily for over-the-counter and takeaway breakfast, with ethically sourced coffee from Single O.

With the South Bank train station on one side and Grey Street and South Bank Parklands on the other,  Little Big House is set to become a frequent destination for many.

The building is located at 271 Grey St, South Brisbane look up and you’ll see the verandas above street level.
