Discovering the Paddington Art Trail in Brisbane
Paddington and its neighbour, Red Hill in Brisbane, have long been home to a diverse community of creatives. Friday and Saturday are the best days to roam the streets here as all the galleries will be open. Surprisingly, several don’t open on Sundays. During the rest of the week, you will find many, but not all will have their doors open to welcome you.
Start your shopping on Paddington Art Trail at Green Tangerine
Paddington art trail
You can park at the top end of Paddington’s Latrobe Terrace and begin your Paddington art trail with a wander down the street then double back on the other side. Allow a couple of hours to enjoy the stroll, with more if you plan a coffee or food stop along the way.
Look out for street art and Paddington shopping along the way, like the Paddington tram on the side of Bizzel’s Garage.
This gorgeous little shop has been a Paddington icon since 2005. Owner Di Lopes stocks beautiful and functional ceramics, books, prints and clothing with a penchant for local. There’s a whole wall full of interesting finds including the finest pottery and pieces that would make excellent presents for yourself or others. Check out Di’s clothing rack too for some must have pieces.
Also have a look next door at Java Lounge where there are cheerful works by local artists hanging in on the walls above the tables.
